	Academic profile
	I was born in La Spezia and I took my first degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Pisa in 1982. In 1989 I toke my PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Parma. I spent fifteen months of my PhD in Richard Andersen's lab in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences in MIT. From 1990 to 1999 I worked as a researcher in the Institute of Human Physiology of Parma. From 1996 to 1999 I had a contract as a Professor of Fundamentals of Neuroscience in the School of Psychology of the University of Parma. In 1999 I became Associate Professor of Human Physiology. I am currently teaching Physiology to undergraduate students of the School of Psychology of the University of Parma and Physiology of Vision in the course for Optometrists of the School of Medicine of the University of Parma. 	Research Interests
	My major research interests concerns the sensori-motor transformations operated by the cerebral cortex and the role of motor cortex in action perception. I study these topics by means of neurophysiological and behavioral techniques. My publications are related to the neurophysiology of space perception, coding of prehension movements, and action understanding.
