Temi di ricerca

I spent my PhD studying the structure/function relationship of proteins, with a particular focus on enzymes. After the PhD I joint the group of Prof. Andreas Plà¼ckthun at the University of Zurich where I worked on the neurotensin-1 G-protein coupled receptor (NTR1). In Zurich I learnt the state of the art of in-vitro selection techniques, like ribosome display and phage display, which were used to select antibody-like binders specific for NTR1.
Currently I hold a permanent researcher/professor position at the university of Parma where I am the group leader of a small protein engineering research group which is exploiting directed evolution techniques to obtain antibody-like proteins to be used for therapeutic and diagnostic applications.
