Obiettivi formativi

Obiettivi dell’insegnamento: dare agli studenti gli strumenti essenziali ad una approfondita comprensione delle diverse e spesso divergenti interpretazioni storiografiche che vengono date di singoli problemi, fenomeni, periodi storici e storico-religiosi, allo scopo di affinare le loro capacità critiche e trasmettere loro una consapevolezza delle radici storiche di problemi attuali. <br />

To offer the students the essential tools for a deeper understanding of the distinct and often diverging historiographical interpretations of the historical and religious problems, phenomena, and periods under examination. The scope of the course is to provide the students with a critical approach and to instil into their mind the consciousness of the historical roots of present issues. <br />

Prerequisiti

Prerequisiti: aver sostenuto al triennio gli esami di Storia della Chiesa, Storia moderna e Storia contemporanea. <br />
<br />
Students must have passed in the first three years the examinations of History of the Church, Early Modern History, and Modern History. <br />

Contenuti dell'insegnamento

<p> Contenuti dell’insegnamento: il corso analizza i difficili e complessi rapporti, dalla Riforma.protestante al Concilio Vaticano II, della Chiesa cattolica con la modernità. <br />

The course analyses the difficult and complicated relations of the Catholic Church with modernity, starting from the Reformation down to Vatican Council II. <br />

Students have been requested to read a series of essays dealing with the subject of the course and to focus particularly on the work of scholars suche as Paolo Prodi, Wolfgang Reinhard, Hans Schilling, Daniele Menozzi, Enzo Ferrone. <br />

Metodi didattici

Metodologie di insegnamento: l’insegnamento ha avuto carattere seminariale e si è svolto con un rilevante contributo degli studenti, cui sono state assegnate relazioni, che sono state discusse durante l’orario di lezione e che hanno costituito la base della valutazione. <br />

The students were asked to give their contribution to the seminar and were requested to present papers which were discussed during the course and which constituted the basis for the assessment of their acquaintance with the issues under consideration. <br />

Metodi di valutazione: per gli studenti che hanno frequentato la valutazione si è basata sulle loro capacità espositive nel presentare le relazioni e sul loro originale contributo critico nell’affrontare le tematiche trattate durante il corso. Per gli studenti non frequentanti la valutazione si è basata sullo studio della bibliografia fornita e sulla capacità di presentare con chiarezza e con proprietà di linguaggio e di concetti le loro conoscenze in materia. <br />

The students who attended the course were assessed on the basis of their capacity to present their papers with clarity and intelligence and to give a personal critical contribution to the subject. The students who did not attend the course were examined orally on the given bibliography and were asked to demonstrate their capacity to present the results of their study with clarity, linguistic propriety and an adequate knowledge of the concepts and categories. <br />
