Saturdays in Nature

‘Saturdays in Nature’ is a series of excursions designed to rediscover the deep connection between people and landscapes. Each outing is an invitation to slow down, observe, listen and walk together, immersed in the beauty of the natural places that surround us. An opportunity to recharge, get to know the area and share experiences in the open air.

The aim is to promote a mindset of conscious development of the territory among young people, starting from the contexts of life and relationships in which they live, from the university environment to the city and the territory in which they live, capturing and synthesising the links between man, the environment, resources and the changes that man himself has produced and the effects to which we must and will increasingly have to adapt in the years to come.

16 may 2026 – Val Tarodine Valley
The May 16 excursion, organized by the University of Parma and the Italian Alpine Club (CAI – Parma and Borgotaro sections), programmed sustainable travel by train to Borgo Val di Taro, with tickets to be purchased by students. From there, a short minibus ride takes participants to Valdena, the starting point of the route.The hike develops through different types of woodland up to the ridge at Passo del Borgallo, then continues along scenic panoramic stretches to the memorial dedicated to the Partisan Resistance. A short detour leads to the small church of Valvenera before returning to Valdena. The return journey finally takes place by train from Borgo Val di Taro to Parma.
11 April 2026 – Monte Fuso
Departure is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. from the parking area of the Cinema The Space Campus on Via Langhirano, next to the Campus of Science and Technology, with return expected at around 6:00 p.m.The excursion will take place in the area surrounding Monte Fuso. A stop will be made in Sasso to visit the Museum of the Resistance, then the group will reach the Monte Fuso Park Centre, and finally gather along the ridge, where a packed lunch will be eaten.
14 March 2026 – Torrechiara circular walk
Take the bus (line 12) from Parma to Torrechiara. Once you have walked through the village, you will follow a circular route along footpaths, cart tracks and tarmac roads to explore the area and its cultural and natural features

By train from Parma to Borgotaro and excursion to discover Val Vona on the theme of rural architecture.
10 May 2025 - Excursion to the Ghirardi Oasis
By train from Parma to Borgotaro. Botanical-naturalistic visit to the Ghirardi Oasis and participation in the Citizen Science project on pollinating insects.
