Initiatives supporting those who care for a loved one requiring long-term assistance with daily living activities.
A caregiver is a person who voluntarily provides care and assistance to a dependent loved one who requires long-term support.
The University of Parma is committed to the wellbeing of all its students and staff, and wishes to support them in every moment of vulnerability that life may bring — moments that can also affect, among other things, the smooth progress of one's studies and working life.
The first step towards receiving support is the formal recognition of caregiver status.
Regional Law No. 2 of 28 March 2014 requires the completion of a self-declaration form pursuant to Art. 46 of Presidential Decree No. 445 of 28 December 2000, stating that one is a caregiver and specifying the relationship with the dependent loved one.
The self-declaration must be submitted or delivered to the Caregiver Support Desk of the Municipality/District of residence, and/or presented at the time of the assisted person's referral to the social and health services of the Municipality/District of residence.
On the Sono Caregiver website of the Emilia-Romagna Region, it is possible to download the self-declaration form, find the addresses of the Caregiver Support Desks, and learn more about the various support measures available.
