CLIMBING FOR CLIMATE - RUS
Climbing for Climate is an annual national event promoted by RUS – the University Network for Sustainable Development – in collaboration with the Italian Alpine Club (CAI). Created as a symbolic and participatory initiative, the event brings together students, teachers, researchers and citizens on a mountain walk to raise awareness of the urgency of the climate crisis and the importance of protecting Alpine ecosystems.

Lago Santo - Marmagna Excursion
Participants were divided into 6 groups for 3 routes:
- Cancelli - Sentiero delle Carbonaie - Lago Santo Parmense - Monte Marmagna (trails 723B-723)
- Lagdei - Panoramica Trail - Lago Santo Parmense - Monte Marmagna (trails 723A - 723)
- Cancelli - La Vezzosa - Prato della Valle - Lago Santo Parmense - Monte Marmagna (trails 725A - 725 - 723)
CLIMBING FOR CLIMATE - Excursion 25 september 2021
Excursion along the ridge of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines above the municipality of Monchio, starting from Prato Spilla.
Participants were divided into five groups and followed two itineraries:
- 1st itinerary: Prato Spilla, Lago Verde, Laghi Martini and Monte Bragalata (about 5/6 hours of walking)
- 2nd itinerary: Prato Spilla, Lago Palo, Sella Canuti, Monte Malpasso, Lago Verdarolo, Lago Scuro (about 4/5 hours of walking)

University of Parma - Lago Santo and Monte Marmagna 4 October 2025
As part of ACTION for Climate, on Saturday 4 October, the University and the Parma branch of the Italian Alpine Club are organising an excursion to the Upper Parma Valley, specifically to Lago Santo and Monte Marmagna (Municipality of Corniglio), open to Unipr staff and students.
An important new feature this year concerns transport: to facilitate participation and avoid the use of too many cars and related emissions, the University of Parma will provide two buses for participants.
Action for Climate: on 4 October, excursion to Lago Santo and Monte Marmagna organised by the University and CAI. Registration by 12 noon on 29 September.
The University is participating in the awareness-raising initiative promoted by the University Network for Sustainable Development. Open day for staff and students.
