Installation Party
On 28 April, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the tables in the School of Scientific Engineering, the ‘UNIPR Installation Party’ will take place, an initiative organised by EMS-APS, Ateneo Sostenibile and LUG Parma, is designed to:
Help university students save money by extending the life of their IT devices
Reduce the creation of new WEEE waste
The event is aimed in particular at those who:
Cannot upgrade their computer to Windows 11,
Use an Apple computer that no longer receives updates,
Have an old PC gathering dust at home
Simply want to try out a new, free, high-performance operating system that respects privacy
During the session, you’ll be able to receive free assistance with installing and configuring Linux-based operating systems. This will allow you to continue using your device safely, without having to buy a new one!
For those who wish, it will also be possible to clean the CPU fan, replace the thermal paste and upgrade the WiFi card!
Like any self-respecting party, there will be drinks and snacks
