On 7 October, “Puliamo il mondo” (Clean Up the World) returns to the University of Parma. The University has once again joined the national campaign promoted by Legambiente, inspired by the international “Clean Up the World” event. The “Ateneo Sostenibile” (Sustainable University) working group has organised a clean-up of the Science and Technology Campus from 3 p.m. to approximately 5:30 p.m.

Participants will meet at 3 p.m. outside the Conference Centre in the Science Lecture Hall Complex (Plesso Aule delle Scienze), where clean-up kits and equipment will be distributed. Participants will then be divided into teams to cover all areas of the Campus. Everyone taking part will receive a University giveaway, and the team collecting the most waste will receive an additional prize.

The event is open to students, University staff and anyone interested. Participants are asked to register using the following:

The initiative is part of the activities promoted by the “Ateneo Sostenibile” working group to raise awareness of waste reduction and recycling, and to make a shared space open to everyone more enjoyable and accessible. The University of Parma is a member of the Italian University Network for Sustainable Development (RUS) and the EU GREEN Alliance. Over the years, the University has undertaken a range of initiatives to improve its environmental, economic and social sustainability.

The following associations are supporting the initiative: I Monnezzari, Legambiente Circolo di Parma, Guardie Ecologiche Volontarie di Legambiente (GELA), Parma Sostenibile, RUS Studenti and SDSN Youth Italia.
