Bike to Work extended until 30 June 2027
The Bike to Work project, which encourages cycling to work through financial incentives, will continue with a third phase: the Municipality of Parma has announced that the Emilia-Romagna Region has extended the project until 30 June 2027.
The second phase will end on 31 October 2026. This will be followed by activity reporting, verification of the documentation by the Municipality, and payment of the incentives.
All permanent staff at the University of Parma are eligible to participate. If funding is insufficient, priority will be given to those who responded to the preliminary call for expressions of interest.
The project offers three types of financial support for employees of participating organisations:
- Bike to Work: incentives for cycling to work of up to €0.20 per kilometre, capped at €50 per month per employee for the period March 2025–October 2026. Only journeys tracked using the UP2GO app, selected by the Municipality to record distances travelled, are eligible.
- Conventional bike sharing: a contribution covering 50% of the cost of an annual subscription to the Ridemovi service, valid exclusively for conventional pedal bicycles. eBikes and scooters are excluded.
- Bicycle storage: a contribution covering 50% of the cost of an annual subscription to the bicycle storage facility at the railway station.
To apply for the bike sharing and bicycle storage contributions, employees must send a copy of their annual subscription payment receipt to protocollo@unipr.it, for the attention of the University’s Mobility Manager.
The agreement between the University of Parma and Infomobility also allows all University employees to purchase an annual subscription to the secure bicycle storage facility at the station at the discounted rate of €135 instead of €180.
How to participate in Bike to Work
To receive mileage incentives, participants must record their journeys using the UP2GO app and enter the company code UniprBTW25. The attached guide explains how to register and use the application.

Self-declarations of journeys will no longer be accepted.
