The Rector according to the Statute
"The Rector represents the University for all legal purposes and supervises all its activities [...] he is responsible for pursuing the University's aims in accordance with quality criteria, in compliance with the principles of effectiveness, efficiency, transparency and promotion of merit [...] guarantees respect for the principles of autonomy of the University, freedom of teaching and research, and the rights of staff and students [...] guarantees compliance with the law, the Statute and the regulations [...] He convenes and chairs the Academic Senate and the Board of administration [...] he issues the Statute and the University regulations, including the internal regulations of each structure" (Art. 9 of the University Statute)
Curriculum Prof. Paolo Andrei
Born in Parma on 10 October 1962, he graduated in 1987 with a degree in Economics and Commerce from the University of Parma.
A university researcher in Business Economics in 1991 at the University of Parma, he continued his academic career as Associate Professor at the University of Macerata from 1998 to 2001, the year in which he became Full Professor of Business Economics at the University of Parma.
Prof. Andrei's assignments include the following:
- Coordinator of the Ministerial Commission for Economic and Financial Accounting of Universities (representing CRUI - Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities) since 11 October 2019

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
Prof. Andrei's research activity is mainly focused on issues related to economic and financial corporate communication, both in the Italian and international context. This research activity is evidenced by several publications (papers in national and international journals, essays and monographs), as well as numerous presentations at conferences and seminars. Other research interests include the history of accounting, social reporting and corporate social responsibility.
Together with Massimo Sargiacomo and Stefania Servalli, he was awarded the Thomas J. Burns Biographical Research Award 2014 by the Academy of Accounting Historians for the article published in 2012 in the Accounting History Review entitled Fabio Besta: accounting thinker and accounting history pioneer.
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of several national and international journals and publishing series specialised in Accounting, Management and Business Economics, and was Chief Editor of the series "Determinazione e comunicazione del valore nelle aziende", Giappichelli, Turin (2012-2015).
He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications (see publications).
