In 2022, the Parma Food Business Incubator, the first business incubator in agribusiness, will be opened on the Science and Technology Campus, which will simultaneously host 7 start-ups in order to foster the exchange of knowledge and experience between business and university, while simultaneously incentivizing the development of new technological and innovative businesses in the agrifood sector.
Built from an investment of nearly 1.6 million euros, 1 of which is a regional contribution, the incubator will enrich the university's innovation ecosystem, which includes the School for Advanced Studies in Food and Nutrition and the Parma Technopole.
The new structure fits within the Food Project, a project promoted by the University of Parma to systematize and strengthen the already existing competencies of excellence in research and teaching in the food sector, promote their interaction within the University, with companies, research centers and educational realities on the local, national and international territory, and make the University of Parma a recognized European hub in the field of higher education and research in the food sector.
