The University Commission for Scientific Research has propositional and advisory functions regarding strategies pertaining to University scientific research. In particular, it:
- expresses opinions and may make proposals regarding the overall needs and use of the University's research resources;
- makes proposals regarding criteria for the evaluation of research projects;
- formulates proposals for the University Plan for Research;
- formulates proposals regarding criteria for internal evaluation of research quality;
- expresses an opinion on the reports on scientific activity prepared, according to current regulations, by the various structures of the University.
The Research Commission is appointed upon triennial renewal of the Scientific Area Committees. It is made up of the Rector (or his/her delegate), who chairs it, and the Chairperson of the Scientific Area Committees elected within the Committees themselves.
The Rector by DR No. 1295 of July 7, 2021 appointed the University Commission for Research to serve until July 1, 2024.
The Chairman of the Research Commission is Prof. Roberto Fornari, Pro-rector with delegated authority for Research.
