Visiting Professors and Visiting Researchers

As part of our efforts to intensify scientific exchange with our international partners at all levels, the University or Parma fosters the presence of scholars of the highest repute (affiliated with non-Italian universities or other institutions) at our University, for both short-term and long-term periods. Such exchanges may take part within the framework of our Visiting Professors Programme, under specific projects or initiatives aimed at strengthening our University’s international dimension, or upon request by our Departments or Centres.

Between 30 to 50 Visiting Professors from all over the world are usually invited each year to hold courses, give lectures, modules or seminars at our Degree Courses at Bachelor, Master and/or PhD level, or to carry out research activities together with our academic staff or students.

The annual call for the recruitment of Visiting Professors is open to the University Departments, which identify the list of Visiting Professors to be submitted for evaluation by the University Commission for admission to funding.

Visiting Researchers may propose their research project to the relevant University Department in order to set up their research plan together with the Parma researcher/research team.

ERASMUS+ mobility for Teaching and Training

The University of Parma has a longstanding tradition in the exchange mobilities under the ERASMUS+ Programme in terms of both students and staff exchanges: these mobilities are at the very core of our continued collaboration with our international partners and the strengthening of our institutions’ international component.

The staff mobilities for teaching (STA) and training (STT) offer a unique opportunity for professors of our ERASMUS+ Partner HEIs to carry out mobility periods at our University as guest lecturers at our Degree Courses at Undergraduate, Master or PhD level, as well as for administrative personnel to pursue training or professional development actitivies. This type of mobilities allows for an accelerated knowledge transfer and sharing between the partner institutions, and allows for a more sustainable and innovative development of teaching and training contents, methods or programmes.

Having verified the existence of a bilateral agreement with the University of Parma at their home institution, the interested parties should contact the University of Parma’s International Division via email to erasmus@unipr.it, providing details on their academic/professional background, a CV, and details on the proposed mobility area and objectives. The International Division will contact the competent Department/Office for a review of your proposal and get back to you with updates and appropriate instructions.
