SEED Programme - Sustainable Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development - editon 2024

The University of Parma intends to encourage and support university entrepreneurial activity with a high technological component, by setting up a multidisciplinary training course aimed at transmitting the essential skills to start and manage an entrepreneurial activity in the technological field.

Entrepreneurial Training at the University of Parma pursues the following objectives:

  • to support entrepreneurship;
  • to cultivate cultural competences in entrepreneurship;
  • to disseminate new methodologies in the study of entrepreneurship;
  • to create synergies with the territory of Parma and its entrepreneurial landscape.

The course is anchored in the Department of Engineering and Architecture and is organised in close collaboration with the U.O. Valorization of Research and Promotion of Innovation of the Third Mission Area.

The Scientific Coordinator of the initiative is Prof. Felice Giuliani.

 

Purpose of the initiative

The SEED Programme - Sustainable Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development is a multidisciplinary theoretical-practical training course with a maximum of 40 hours of frontal on-line teaching (via MS Teams), approximately 5 hours dedicated to the development of in-person thematic seminars, approximately 10 hours for the preparation of a paper agreed with the lecturers and approximately 8 hours of networking.

The minimum percentage of attendance at the Course activities by the participants, in order to issue the certificate of attendance, is 75% of the total hourly load. The issuance of the certificate of participation will result in the recognition of no. 6 CFUs to those enrolled in the PhD courses.

The SEED programme is configured as a thematic pathway divided into 5 modules made up of a total of 18 on-line courses held by professors of the University of Parma or by proven experts in the fields:

  • Business Economics;
  • Marketing and organisation;
  • Soft skills;
  • Safeguarding innovation;
  • Sustainability.

At the end of each module, a thematic seminar and networking activities will be held in presence, at the University of Parma facilities.

At the conclusion of the SEED course, it will be held a workshop in-presence at the facilities of the University of Parma, dedicated to the presentation of entrepreneurial projects.

Participation in the seminars and the final workshop is exclusively reserved to SEED participants. The modules will take place between 20 May and 16 July 2024; the final workshop will be held in the first half of September 2024.

Participation in the SEED programme is totally free of charge, therefore there is no participation fee.

Recipients of the initiative

Participants can participate in Entrepreneurship Training as individuals or teams. Participants must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  1. be holders of research grants or research contracts ex art. 22 Law n. 240/2010 as modified by art. 14 Law 79/2022, at the University of Parma at the time of submitting the application, or have been in the University of Parma for less than 12 months, or have completed the research grant, or research contract as defined above, at the University of Parma for less than 12 months
  2. be enrolled in a PhD course at the University of Parma at the time of submitting the application, or have been a PhD student at the University of Parma for less than 12 months
  3. be in service at the University of Parma as researchers on fixed-term contracts as per Article 24, paragraph 3, letters a) and b) of Law 240 of 2010
  4. have been recruited by the University of Parma to carry out research activities for the project entitled "Ecosystem for Sustainable Transition in Emilia-Romagna" - ECOSISTER
  5. be a beneficiary of the opportunity to participate in Entrepreneurial Training, having participated in initiatives organised or promoted by the University of Parma that envisaged such an award
  6. be a member representing (or delegate) a spin-off of the University of Parma.

A minimum of 8 and a maximum of 30 participants are admitted to the training course. Of these, 10 places are reserved for those who have been recruited by the University of Parma to carry out research activities for the project entitled "Ecosystem for Sustainable Transition in Emilia-Romagna" - ECOSISTER.

Working teams created for the purpose of participating in the course may consist of a maximum of 3 members. Working teams will be counted, for the purposes of calculating the maximum number of participants indicated above, as 1 participant.

In the case of spin-offs already established, only one member of the spin-off itself may participate.

Application procedure and deadline

To apply, the following documents must be submitted:

  • application form (Annex 1)
  • documentation proving that you meet at least one of the eligibility requirements
  • valid identification document of the applicant or of each team member whose application is being submitted.

Applications may be sent electronically to formazioneimprenditoriale@unipr.it by Wednesday 10 April 2024 at 12 noon. Applications received after the indicated time or not complete with the required documents will not be considered admissible.
