How to request it

Renunciation of studies is an irrevocable formal act by which the student decides to end his or her university career. Renouncing studies means forfeiting all benefits on fees and contributions (Er-Go scholarship, instalment payments, etc.).

You can apply for a waiver at any time; you should consult the Prospectus for the last academic year of enrolment to find out what to do on the basis of your financial situation. (link to Prospectus archive)

Renunciation of non-EU citizens with residence permits: the renunciation of studies by non-EU citizens holding a residence permit for study purposes entails the loss of their residence permit and therefore the impossibility of enrolling at other Italian universities for the same academic year. In order to enrol for subsequent years, it is necessary to contact the competent Italian diplomatic representation in your country in the months of April-June and follow the required procedures.

The waiver application is to be submitted online by accessing your reserved area of Esse3 menu Career > Career Waiver Application.

The waiver application submitted will be taken over by the competent offices, which will carry out the appropriate checks, including with regard to the regularity of the contribution. After the relevant assessments, the stamp duty will be charged. Once the relevant payment has been made, the status of the application will change from Submitted to Approved
