Event description

Piazza of Contemporary Agorà.

Politics Lab is an Academy for young people who want to understand how politics can become a practical tool for improving community life. Through meetings, workshops and field experiences, participants engage with representatives of institutions, associations and businesses, exploring active citizenship as a way of responding to the social, economic and environmental challenges of our time. The programme presents 'good politics' as a shared responsibility that involves not only public institutions but all actors in society. Its aims are to give younger generations a stronger voice, encourage dialogue with the world of work and jointly develop a 'Map for Good Politics': a collection of ideas and guidelines for imagining policies that are more sustainable, inclusive and attentive to the future.

Politics Lab combines classroom activities, meetings with practitioners and field work. The opening Monday afternoon is devoted to welcoming participants, presenting the programme and exploring some of Parma's symbolic places through an urban narrative walk with a political and cultural focus. From Tuesday to Thursday, mornings are dedicated to workshop-based academic sessions, while afternoons feature representatives from public institutions, associations and businesses. The three days focus respectively on politics within institutions, nonprofit organisations and companies. Each day ends with a guided debriefing in which participants collect ideas, criteria and proposals. On Friday morning, this material is brought together in a final workshop to produce the 'Map for Good Politics', conceived as a set of guidelines for sustainable future policies responsive to younger generations.
