The University of Parma adheres to school-to-work alternation projects at the request of interested Schools, hosting students who are motivated to have an educational experience through direct operational engagement in one of the University's various fields. The experience can be particularly useful not only from an educational point of view but also for orientation purposes with respect to the choice of the next university path.

The Pathway for Transversal Skills and Orientation ’Orientation – PCTO is an educational mode that allows the upper secondary school student, through the’experience practical experience, to consolidate the knowledge acquired in school, to test their aptitudes in the field, enriching their education and orienting their  study pathway towards future work.

p>According to Law 107 of 2015   this training mode is mandatory for all students in the last three years of upper secondary school. The Budget Law 2019 changed the name from “Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro” to “Percorsi per le Competenze Trasversali e per l’Orientamento” and reduced its minimum duration, which is to be:

 

  • Not less than 210 hours for Vocational Institutes;
  • Not less than 150 hours for Technical Institutes;
  • Not less than  90 hours for High Schools.

The’University of Parma every year offers Transversal Skills Pathways to students of Upper Secondary Institutions at its Departments and Facilities.

For the' school year'2021-2022 the'University offers the

School Institutions may directly contact the’University Facilities Contact Persons to agree in advance on student participation and related arrangements.

/p>p>For the implementation of the Pathways for Transversal Skills and for’Orientation, it is necessary to sign a special Agreement between the School Institution and the University of Parma.

In view of the temporary suspension of the conduct of PCTOs with frontal mode, similarly to what has been established for the internship paths and as provided by the relevant legislation for the period of Emergency Covid-19, the’obligation of training in health and safety in the workplace lapses at the moment for high school students.

However, it remains confirmed, for those who consider it useful, the attendance of these courses with e-learning mode. In this case, teachers referring to the projects are requested to’send an email to/span>a<supporto.elly@unipr.it&span> containing the data of each interested student (first name, last name, email address)./span>
