1. BASIC TRAINING
General training (4 hours)
Specific training – laboratory activities (12 hours)
2. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR SPECIFIC WORK ACTIVITIES
In addition to the basic training, users in scientific fields must, depending on the risks associated with their activities, complete the following modules:
Ionising radiation – unsealed sources;
Peroxides and peroxidisable compounds: how to prevent accidents associated with their reactivity;
Activities in the veterinary sector;
Activities carried out in the Dental Centre;
Activities carried out as part of the Dental Hygiene degree programme;
Reprotoxic substances.
For practical activities or work placements carried out at external organisations or companies, specific training is provided by the host organisation or company.
Training on health and safety in the workplace will then be supplemented by additional classroom-based training to be held in the laboratory, organised by the Head of Teaching and Research Activities in Laboratories, which will also serve as a useful refresher.
Training for supervisors: those who are designated as supervisors, to whom responsibilities of authority over others are entrusted – even temporarily – and who consequently find themselves in a position to supervise, coordinate or organise the activities of other people, must undertake an additional face-to-face course.
3. REFRESHER TRAINING
After completing the basic training, and in any case no later than 5 years from the date of the certificates, refresher courses must be attended:
