The survey is carried out through the completion of an anonymous questionnaire addressed to PhD students at the end of their first and second year and to future PhD students (those who have completed their third year and are waiting to take their final exam), which allows the widespread collection of data useful for the process of self-assessment of PhD programs.
Participation in the survey is mandatory for doctoral students enrolled from the 37th cycle onward in order to have admission to the following year and the final exam.
Questionnaire filling
The possibility of completing the questionnaire is given immediately after the end of the first and second year of the course at the first access to application Esse3.
Access to the questionnaire takes place with the institutional credentials of the University and the complete anonymity of the answers is ensured since only the information regarding participation in the survey is associated with the doctoral student or doctoral student, and the answers provided to the questionnaire are stored in a completely disjointed form, without any possibility of tracing, even at a later time, who filled them out.
Pathways of investigation
For third-year PhD students who are in the process of taking their final exam, the University and AlmaLaurea offer two doctoral course survey paths each year concerning:
- the evaluation of courses by PhD students who are concluding their study/research experience;
the employment placement after one, three and five years after graduation.
