Description and purpose
The project aimed to analyse how the idea of ‘Made in Italy’ was constructed and disseminated across time and space.
Purpose
The goal was to contribute—through documents, materials, and critical reflections—to a deeper understanding of a phenomenon often studied mainly in its more recent phases, but still insufficiently explored in its historical, cultural, and communicative roots.
Expected results
The project aimed to advance knowledge on the Made in phenomenon – and particularly on Made in Italy – by promoting and organising conferences and seminars, as well as by publishing historiographical contributions in academic venues. These activities were expected to broaden scholarly understanding and foster new research perspectives on the historical development of Italian production and identity.
Achieved results
The research team, composed of three universities, has significantly contributed to advancing knowledge on the Made in Italy phenomenon. Participation in international conferences and seminars has been substantial, with further engagements planned for the first half of 2026. Several articles have already appeared in high-ranking academic journals, while additional publications are currently in preparation.
