Parma, April 21, 2026 - The University of Parma is hosting on Wednesday, April 29, the scientific seminar Community-led Low-carbon Economy Actions for Rural Areas: Barriers and Opportunities in Area-based Partnerships (CLEAR), as part of the EU GREEN Alliance. The meeting is at 9 a.m. at the Department of Economics and Management (Lecture Hall C, Via Kennedy 6).

The CLEAR project aims to study the opportunities and barriers that influence the involvement of rural territories in the ecological transition, with a particular focus on the role played by Local Action Groups (LAGs), which are recognized by the European Union's LEADER program. LAGs represent a strategic point of contact between local realities and European policies, towards the transition of sustainable local development of rural areas.

Besides the University of Parma, the CLEAR project involves EU GREEN partners Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (Poland), University of Extremadura (Spain), University of Oradea (Romania), Otto von Guericke Magdeburg University (Germany).

The seminar, organized by the professor of the Department of Economics and Management Filippo Arfini, will host, asp speakers, Franco Mantino of CREA - Council for Agricultural Research and Analysis of Agricultural Economics, Emilia-Romagna Region, Teresa Schipani, head of the LEADER program for Emilia-Romagna, Giovanni Pattoneri of the LAG of the Parma and Piacenza area.

The seminar will bring together researchers, researchers, professors and representatives of public institutions, offering an important opportunity for discussion on the issues of sustainability and participation of local communities and rural areas.
