Event description

Piazza of Open Education.

The Academy offers a training programme for young people, university students, professionals and practitioners who wish to develop skills for designing non-formal education initiatives aimed at younger generations. The programme focuses on interprofessional work and on the ability to identify and interpret community needs by bringing together digital, social and environmental perspectives. Through workshops, experiential activities, dialogue with local organisations and co-design sessions, participants are supported in developing proposals that can be transferred to local contexts. The Academy also strengthens cooperation between the University, the Municipality, schools, third-sector organisations, cooperatives and other local stakeholders, contributing to a Competence Framework for non-formal education as a legacy of Parma European Youth Capital 2027. The Academy is organised in collaboration with ASP Parma - Azienda di Servizi alla Persona del Distretto di Parma (Parma Parma District Agency for Personal Services) / Casa di Quartiere Villa Ester, the Centro per le Famiglie (Family Hub) of the Municipality of Parma, Proges - Società Cooperativa Sociale, and the Municipality of Parma's educational services.

The seasonal school takes place over five in-person days and is supported by online materials. The programme combines short methodological introductions, workshops, experiential activities and sessions with local stakeholders. Participants are first introduced to the European GreenComp, DigComp and Life Skills frameworks and then work on translating them into practical tools for educational and social initiatives. Activities include mapping local needs and resources, co-design sessions with the Municipality, schools, cooperatives and third-sector organisations, and short field experiences. Working in groups, participants develop small-scale experimental actions and discuss how they could be transferred and applied in different settings. The final phase brings together evidence, practical guidance and recommendations in a policy document designed to contribute to the Competence Framework for non-formal education.
