Event description

CIB-LAB gives young people critical tools to understand food as a cultural, historical, geographical and economic phenomenon. It connects contemporary food practices and their multicultural roots with sustainability, labour, costs, resources and consumption. Participants move from passive consumers of food culture to informed observers and content creators able to explore the future of food in European cities.

The programme combines small-group labs, seminars and convivial sessions with local food businesses. Participants analyse contemporary food culture and produce clips, podcasts, hypertexts or other digital content on the food of future cities. Expert seminars provide further insight, while guided tastings address practical issues such as costs, time and labour. Selected digital outputs are published online.
