Parma, 7 September 2026 – On 10 and 11 September, the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Parma will host the fourth edition of the International Conference in Banking and Financial Studies (ICBFS 2026), an international event dedicated to research in banking and finance.
The conference will provide an important opportunity for professionals and policymakers from numerous countries to exchange ideas. The programme will address some of the major transformations currently affecting financial markets and intermediaries, including artificial intelligence and big data, digital finance and blockchain, sustainability and climate finance, ESG, corporate governance, financial regulation and global risk management.
The event is organised by the University of Parma and the International Society for the Advancement of Financial Economics (ISAFE), in collaboration with EM Normandie Business School and Crédit Agricole Italia, which will host one of the concluding sessions of the first day at its Crédit Agricole Green Life campus.
The conference will be coordinated by four Conference Co-Chairs: Sabri Boubaker, EM Normandie Business School and President of ISAFE; Paola Schwizer, University of Milano-Bicocca; Maria Gaia Soana, University of Parma; and Vincenzo Verdoliva, Pegaso Digital University.
The keynote speakers for the 2026 edition will be two internationally renowned academics: Mariassunta Giannetti, Stockholm School of Economics, and Raghavendra Rau, Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
The Meet the Editors session will also be a key feature of the conference, offering participants an opportunity to engage directly in discussions on academic publishing processes and the evolving standards of academic research. Speakers will include Agyenim Boateng, Leeds Beckett University; Arman Eshraghi, City University of Macau and Editor-in-Chief of the Global Finance Journal; Silvio Vismara, University of Bergamo and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Technology Transfer; and Sabri Boubaker, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Financial Management & Accounting.
