Parma, 26 June 2026 – At 10.00 am on 1 July, the University of Parma will officially open its new Welcome Point at 3 Piazzale San Francesco, a new one-stop service designed for prospective and current students. The facility brings together a range of dedicated information and support desks, providing services for both Italian and international users.
The Welcome Point has been created to provide a single, easily accessible location where students can receive guidance and assistance as they begin their university journey. It is primarily intended for prospective students, offering information on enrolment procedures and directing users to University and local services, including non-academic support such as accommodation.
Current students will also be able to access the Welcome Point's support services. However, all matters relating to the management of their academic careers will continue to be handled by the relevant Student Registry Offices.
At the Welcome Point, prospective students can obtain general information about enrolment, receive assistance with the status of their applications and, in the case of international applicants or those holding foreign qualifications, submit the documentation required to complete the enrolment process, such as foreign academic certificates and residence permits. As noted above, all procedures relating to students' academic records after enrolment will remain the responsibility of the relevant Student Registry Offices.
The Welcome Point will host several dedicated service desks, each designed to meet the needs of specific groups of users.
- Prospective Student Information Desk – General information on University services and enrolment procedures.
- Admissions Office and Italian Revenue Agency Desk – An integrated service for international students, providing support with immigration procedures, residence permits, tax identification numbers (codice fiscale) and the administrative requirements for entering and staying in Italy.
- Welcome Service – A reception and orientation service primarily for international and exchange students, offering guidance on accommodation, healthcare, banking services, transport and other practical aspects of living and studying in Parma.
- Enrolment Service – Student Registry Office desks organised by academic area, providing support with enrolment procedures, admission tests and the assessment of foreign qualifications.
- Student Mobility Service – Two dedicated desks supporting both incoming and outgoing student mobility, assisting students throughout every stage of their international mobility experience at the University of Parma.
Support relating to tuition fees and financial aid will continue to be provided online by the Fees and Financial Support Service through the usual channels.
