Parma, 26 June 2026 – Graduation caps flew high at the University of Parma's PhD Day 2026, held today at the Science and Technology Campus. The annual ceremony celebrates researchers who have successfully completed one of the most significant milestones in their academic journey.

A total of 184 PhD graduates completed their doctoral studies at the University of Parma in 2026.

The event opened with welcome remarks by Rector Paolo Martelli, followed by speeches from Massimo Fabi, Regional Councillor for Health Policies representing the Emilia-Romagna Regional Government; Chiara Dall'Asta, the Rector's Delegate for Doctoral Programmes; Franco Magnani, President of Fondazione Cariparma; and Andrea Zappettini, Director of IMEM-CNR.

The ceremony also featured testimonials from two recent PhD graduates: Virginia Droghetti, who completed her doctorate in Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Salihu Mohammed, who earned his PhD in Molecular Medicine.

The Rector then presented the doctoral diplomas to the graduates, who also received a copy of the volume University of Parma: A Millennium of History and a University T-shirt.

The ceremony concluded with the Rector's collective conferment of the doctoral degrees and the traditional cap toss.
