Parma, 15 September 2026 – The University and the city of Parma officially welcomed the students who have arrived in Parma to take part in an exchange mobility programme during the first semester or throughout the 2026-2027 academic year.
The Welcome Day, held in the Main Hall of the University’s Central Building at 12 Via Università, provided participants with essential information to help them begin their study experience and settle into life in Parma. It was also an opportunity to present the main services offered by the University and the local community.
The day began with the traditional group photo in the University courtyard. This was followed by institutional greetings from Rector Paolo Martelli; Chiara Vernizzi, Councillor for Urban Regeneration of the Municipality of Parma; Maria Cecilia Mancini, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Mobility; Ilaria Zanotti, Rector’s Delegate for the Erasmus+ Programme and Mobility; Riccardo Mascia, Erasmus+ Coordinator at Parma’s “Arrigo Boito” Conservatory; Alessandro Bernazzoli, Head of the International Relations and EU GREEN Unit; and Carmen Guzman, Vice-President of ESN-ASSI Parma.
The programme continued with a presentation by the International Welcome, Mobility and Students Unit, focusing on the first steps to be taken and the information needed to make the most of the university experience and life in the city.
The main services provided by the University and the local community were then presented to the students, ranging from the activities of the University Centre for Inclusion and the University Libraries to the support offered by CIAC ONLUS. Other presentations covered the services connected with the Crédit Agricole Student Card, urban mobility provided by Infomobility, and administrative requirements handled by the Italian Revenue Agency.
To conclude the meeting, the Erasmus Student Network – ESN-ASSI Parma presented its activities and initiatives for students, designed to encourage them to get to know one another, socialise and become part of the University and local communities.
The Welcome Day will conclude at the “Arrigo Boito” Conservatory of Music with a guided tour of the cloisters and the historic Carmine Convent, followed by a welcome concert performed by the percussion class of Roger Catino.
