Piazza of Food.
Food Design Next Gen focuses on the emerging role of the food designer, working across design, food culture, communication, services, production chains and sustainability. It offers young people opportunities for orientation, exchange and professional experimentation while building an international community of students, designers and researchers. The project positions Parma as a laboratory for sustainable, inclusive and future-oriented food innovation.
The year-long programme combines online and in-person activities. An international digital community supports discussion, research and co-design, while a student curatorial team works periodically in Parma on content and networking. Talks, seminars and public events address food access, waste, innovation, communication, cultural heritage and design in food systems. Collaborative work feeds into a final exhibition and manifesto.
