Authentication in UNIPR digital services
The University of Parma uses a multi-factor authentication (MFA) system to ensure secure access to its digital services (Esse3 portal, email, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
What is MFA authentication?
After entering your credentials (username and password), you may be asked to approve access via an app installed on your smartphone or another device associated with your profile (e.g. Microsoft Authenticator or similar).
This verification serves to protect your data and prevent unauthorised access.
Problems with authentication
If you lose, replace or break the device used for authentication, you may no longer be able to approve access. You then must:
- Do not attempt to create a new account.
- Contact the IT Helpdesk immediately, who will be able to reset your MFA authentication and allow you to set up a new device.
- Provide your full name and attach a copy of your identity document.
