Erasmus+ Program for Study (SMS)
Erasmus+ allows you to spend between 2 and 12 months at one of the University of Parma's European partner universities. The duration is defined by the bilateral agreement between the universities, but can be modified within certain limits. Mobility must be physical, although it may include a virtual component (blended mobility), provided that the stay abroad lasts at least 2 months and involves at least 3 ECTS credits. The months spent in physical mobility count towards the maximum limit for each cycle of studies.
During your stay, you can take courses, sit exams, work on your thesis, combine study and internship (if applicable), or participate in doctoral activities. It is never permitted to attend classes or sit exams at UNIPR during mobility. Erasmus+ is mainly aimed at mobility in Europe and is the main international program offered to students.
Overworld Programs and Special Projects
Overworld and Special Projects allow you to study abroad in countries outside the Erasmus+ area. The organizational procedures are similar to those of the Erasmus+ program, but the standard mobility period ranges from 2 to 6 months, with the possibility of extending it to 12 months only in the case of a double degree. Again, the duration is defined by the bilateral agreement but can be extended or reduced with the approval of the contact persons.
Mobility can take place in blended mode only if approved by the foreign institution, with a physical part that respects the minimum duration. The activities allowed during the stay are the same as for Erasmus+, but with a non-European destination and a more flexible organization. Here too, it is not permitted to take exams or attend activities at the University of Parma during the stay.
