The CUS Parma is a branch of the Italian University Sports Centre (CUSI), a sports promotion organisation with legal status, recognised by CONI (the Italian National Olympic Committee) in 1979. The institutional task of CUS Parma is to promote and organise preparatory and competitive sports for the students of the University of Parma. It also manages all the sports facilities of the University of Parma campus.

Students who play or have played competitive sports during their university years can earn university credits as part of their free-elective activities. These credits can be earned by participating in non-competitive sports courses and activities organised by CUS Parma.

Every academic year CUS Parma organises a series of courses in preparation for various sports (aerobics & fitness, martial arts, general gymnastics, golf, swimming, volleyball, basketball, skiing, tennis, athletics, judo, triathlon) and numerous tournaments reserved for students of the University of Parma (five-a-side football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, golf, athletics).

CUS Parma also participates in the National University Championships, organised by CUSI in various Italian locations, with the athletes who have distinguished themselves during the year in the various disciplines. In 2015 CUS Parma organised the event in Salsomaggiore Terme.

Recreational activities are no less important. The company organises skiing holidays and summer camps in various locations throughout Italy.

Finally, as in previous years, CUS Parma is planning to organise sports activities in collaboration with Italian and foreign universities, to encourage sporting and cultural exchanges with students of other universities.

CUS Parma also organises numerous events, i.e. Giocampus Estate, the Parma half marathon, the Cetilar Run, Duathlon Kids and Duathlon Francigeno & Campus Triathlon.
