Description and purpose

Telemedicine represents one of the main operational expressions of digital healthcare. Its implementation makes it possible to overcome geographical and temporal barriers, expanding access to specialist services even in peripheral or emergency contexts. This project focuses on case studies covering various aspects of telemedicine, with the aim of identifying best practices and developing a model to assess the sustainable use of healthcare technology.

Purpose

The project aims to develop an analytical model to examine the sustainability of telemedicine services and to evaluate the elements involved in their implementation and management.

1. Investigating changes in health sectors with telemedicine services;

2. Telemedicine impacts on costs and quality;

3. Analysis of the economic and organizational choices of processes and setting care: an application model.

Expected results

The main expected outcome of the project is the definition of a comprehensive framework that identifies measures, parameters, and indicators to evaluate all critical aspects of telemedicine services, with the goal of ensuring better management.
 The project results will provide the necessary conditions to ensure the sustainability of the service, suggesting strategic interventions to improve it and create value for all stakeholders involved in the system.

Achieved results

The research activities carried out within the project have led to a deeper understanding of the most critical aspects related to telemedicine services, while also enabling the development of innovative solutions to improve these services.
 In particular, the main results achieved focused on the following aspects: successful organizational conditions, appropriate use of technology, cost assessment, quality monitoring systems, and accreditation requirements.
