Event description
Piazza of Open Education.
Parma STEM Capital brings teenagers closer to science and technology through an engaging event outside the traditional classroom format. Co-designed with university student mentors, companies and associations, it strengthens links between schools, university and the workplace and supports informed educational choices. Particular attention is given to girls' participation and to reducing the gender gap in STEM through relatable professional role models.
The final STEM-UP event combines science communication, theatre and personal testimony. It includes Gabriella Greison's performance “La donna della bomba atomica” (The Woman Behind the Atomic Bomb) and contributions from students involved in STEM-UP and school workshops, who present their peer-to-peer learning experience. Local companies, emerging skills and women working in scientific and technological fields provide concrete perspectives on study and career opportunities.
