Prepare your arrival in Parma

The staff at Erasmus and International Home has prepared a handbook for exchange students studying at the University of Parma. The purpose of the handbook is to provide guidance for the entire exchange period, from the application procedures and completion of the Learning Agreement to the recognition of the activities that students will carry out during their exchange. It illustrates the main features of the University of Parma and the services dedicated to exchange students. The handbook also provides students with some tips for planning their arrival in Parma.

The Exchange Student Handbook for A.Y. 2025-2026

Erasmus+ mobility students can download and use the Erasmus+ App. The app provides support to Erasmus+ mobility students participating in higher education studies, higher education traineeships, Erasmus Mundus, vocational education and training, and youth exchanges before, during, and after their experience.

The Erasmus Office prepares an extract from the academic calendar to help exchange students find the key dates for planning their exchange period. This calendar is prepared using the information available on the websites of the various departments.

The Erasmus and International Home staff organises a series of online meetings to help nominated students prepare for their exchange period in Parma. These events take place twice a year, during each application phase: a summer session for first-semester and full-year exchange students and a winter session for second-semester exchange students. These are the main topics covered:

• Introduction to the University of Parma; registration process at UNIPR and on the Universitaly portal for students who need a visa;
• Introduction to the departments, the courses offered and the preparation of the Learning Agreement;
• Services and facilities (accommodation, Italian language courses, Erasmus Student Network, etc.).

At the beginning of each semester, a Welcome Day is organised during which the staff of the Erasmus and International Home present some administrative and practical aspects and the local partners of the University of Parma introduce themselves to exchange students and illustrate their services.
