Teaching

The WP2 is divided into four subgroups that work in parallel on different aspects of educational innovation:

Joint Degrees Team: works on creating joint degree programs between universities, defining a shared vocabulary, and managing the entire selection and implementation process. It also contributes to the development of the Minor in Sustainability, an interdisciplinary track designed to enhance students’ skills in sustainability-related topics.

Short Programs Team: develops guidelines for designing short-term educational programs such as BIPs, MOOCs, and micro-credentials, facilitating access to flexible and modular learning experiences.

Alignment with SDGs and Multilingualism Team: is responsible for integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into degree programs and promotes multilingualism in the course catalogue.

Pedagogical and Professional Development Team (PPDP): promotes the professional development of professors and university staff through training activities on innovative teaching and sustainability, including workshops, online masterclasses, and in-person academic retreats at partner hubs.

The topic of distance learning also includes MOOCs (massive open online courses): courses designed for distance learning, involving students who are who are geographically distant from their universities, have limited access to them due to financial hardship or disabilities, or belong to ethnic minorities and therefore face barriers to accessing education. The educational offerings dedicated to MOOCs are also developed in line with Europe’s Sustainable Development Goals, in pursuit of the guidelines set forth by the European Union’s Agenda 2035.

Applications are now open for the International Program in Sustainability – Minor in Sustainability, the new international and interdisciplinary program promoted as part of the EU GREEN European University Alliance.

The program involves the University of Parma and its partner universities in Évora, Gävle, and Oradea, and provides an opportunity to work with students and professors from different countries and academic disciplines. The exchange of diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives is one of the program’s central elements.

Specifically, the 2026–2027 edition will be launched as a pilot project. Participants will therefore have the opportunity not only to take part in the program but also to contribute concretely to its testing and development by offering ideas, observations, and proposals that will help shape future editions of the Minor within the EU GREEN Alliance.

The program awards 24 CFU, is free of charge, and is open to students enrolled in a degree course at the University of Parma. Activities will be conducted primarily in English and in a blended format, combining online activities, opportunities for international collaboration, and course units selected from the University’s course catalogue.
