Activities
WP2 is divided into four sub-groups which work in parallel on different aspects of educational innovation:
Joint Degrees Team: works on the creation of joint degree programmes between universities, defining a shared vocabulary and managing the entire selection and implementation process. It also contributes to the development of the Minor in Sustainability, an interdisciplinary programme designed to enhance students’ skills in sustainability-related topics.
Short Programmes Team: develops guidelines for the design of short learning programmes such as BIPs, MOOCs and micro-credentials, facilitating access to flexible and modular learning experiences.
Alignment with SDGs and Multilingualism Team: is responsible for integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into degree programmes and promotes multilingualism within the course catalogue.
Pedagogical and Professional Development Team (PPDP): promotes the professional development of professors and university staff through training activities on innovative teaching and sustainability, including workshops, online masterclasses and in-person academic retreats at partner hubs.
Distance learning
The field of distance learning also includes MOOCs (massive open online courses): training courses designed for distance learning, involving a number of students, who are geographically distant from their universities, with limited access to them due to financial difficulties or disabilities, or because they belong to ethnic minorities and therefore face barriers to accessing education. The educational provision dedicated to MOOCs is also developed in line with Europe’s Sustainable Development Goals, in pursuit of the guidelines set out in the European Union’s 2035 Agenda.
International Programme in Sustainability – Minor in Sustainability
This procedure governs the second phase of the application process, with a deadline of 2 October 2026. Please consult the call for applications and the relevant annexes for details of entry requirements, selection criteria, deadlines and how to submit your application.
Inscriptions are now open for the International Programme in Sustainability – Minor in Sustainability, the new international and interdisciplinary programme promoted as part of the EU GREEN European University Alliance.
The programme involves the University of Parma and its partner universities in Évora, Gävle and Oradea, and offers the opportunity to work with students and professors from different countries and academic disciplines. The exchange of different skills, experiences and perspectives is one of the programme’s central features.
In particular, the 2026/2027 edition will be launched as a pilot project. Participants will therefore have the opportunity not only to take part in the programme, but also to make a concrete contribution to its testing and development, offering ideas, observations and proposals that will help shape future editions of the Minor within the EU GREEN Alliance.
The programme leads to the award of 24 CFU, is free of charge and is open to students enrolled on a degree course at the University of Parma. Activities will be conducted predominantly in English and in a blended format, combining online activities, opportunities for international collaboration and selected course units from the University’s course catalogue.

The Call for Applications for the International Programme in Sustainability – Minor in Sustainability for the 2026/2027 academic year comprises two application rounds: a first round from 31 July to 4 September 2026 and a second round from 21 September to 2 October 2026.
