The University of Parma and the Lega Italiana per la Lotta contro i Tumori - LILT Parma (Italian League for the Fight against Tumours) have signed an agreement for the implementation of the "Let's do prevention" project for students and staff of the University.
The initiative was launched by Committee for Equal Opportunities, the Enhancement of Workers' Welfare and Against Discrimination (CUG) and is part of Unipr4Life, the major wellness promotion project dedicated to the entire university community.
The project consists of three modules:

- Well-being starts with us
- Getting to know ourselves
Beat the clock
Addressed to University staff, to whom it offers oncological prevention visits promoted by LILT Parma relating to the early diagnosis of cancers of:
- oral cavity
- ear-nose-throat
- prostate
- breast (particularly indicated for women up to the age of 45)
- skin (melanoma prevention - important: this is not a mole mapping visit).
The visits are open to teaching staff, research staff, contract teaching staff, technical administrative staff and technologist staff.
A minimum economic contribution of 20 euros is required for each visit.
Each user is also required to pay an annual membership fee of €15, valid until 31 December each year.
Payment of the membership fee and the minimum contribution for each visit will be made directly at the time of the visit, by cash or POS.
Visits will take place in the LILT Parma Oncological Prevention Space (via Volturno 27/A corner of via Musini 41) and can be booked online at https://easyacademy.unipr.it/portaleplanning/prenotazioni.
Bookings can be cancelled up to of 7 days in advance (until 12 noon). Instructions on how to book and cancel appointments are also available on this page.
Visits may be justified on special medical leave if they take place during working hours.
Visits can be booked from 12 noon on 7 March 2025.
Visits will take place throughout the year and available appointments will be updated monthly.

Online and face-to-face information sessions for staff and students
The topics covered will be primary prevention. Here are some golden rules: eat healthy, don't smoke, take regular exercise, don't drink too much alcohol, get adequate sun exposure, etc.

Getting to know each other
The module is addressed to students and consists of small-group meetings by professionals and experts, covering matters such as self care through cancer prevention actions.
The meetings will take place at University's locations and will cover the early diagnosis of breast and testicular cancer.
The meetings will be bookable online from June.
