Alma universitas studiorum parmensis A.D. 962 - Università di Parma

After confirming you have been selected, your university must send us your official nomination, following the procedure indicated on our dedicated page.

When we receive the nomination and complete the process, we will contact you by email with all the instructions you need to proceed.

Until then, you do not need to do anything: just wait to be contacted by us.

It depends on the country you are coming from and the length of your stay.

The rules can vary greatly from case to case, so it is important to check carefully.

We have prepared a dedicated page with all the latest information on the documentation required to enter Italy: we recommend that you read it carefully.

If you are participating in the Erasmus+ programme, your home university will award you a scholarship according to its own rules.

If you are taking part in another exchange programme, however, we recommend that you ask your international relations office directly, as the scholarship depends on them.

The University of Parma automatically generates a temporary tax code (CF) for you when you register. This tax code is not valid for official purposes and cannot be used in place of the tax code issued by the Revenue Agency.

If you need an official tax code (e.g. to open a bank account or sign a rental contract), you must request it from the Revenue Agency.

You can find all the information you need on how to do this on our dedicated page.

Every year, the University of Parma publishes a list of courses available to students on international exchange programmes.

You can consult this list to see:

  • the credits (CFU) assigned to each course,
  • whether the course is English Friendly (i.e. accessible to those who do not speak Italian).

We recommend that you choose courses based on your language level and the number of credits required by your exchange programme.

Course timetables are published shortly before classes begin on the Student Agenda portal.

Until then, it is not possible to know for certain whether there will be any overlaps.

If you notice that two courses are held at the same time, you can modify your Learning Agreement once for justified reasons, such as this.

Check the timetable page regularly and organise your study plan accordingly.

Yes, it is possible, but it depends on the individual courses and their EQF (European Qualifications Framework) level.

For example, if you are enrolled in a Master's degree programme, you may also take Bachelor's degree courses, but only if they are compatible with your study plan.

In any case, you will always need the consent of your coordinator at your home university and that of the University of Parma.

Make sure you have authorisation from both before adding the course to your Learning Agreement.

Yes, if you are participating in the Erasmus+ programme or the Foundation Year, the University of Parma can offer you support in finding accommodation.

We have a network of contacts and useful resources to help you find accommodation in the city.

To find out more, visit our page dedicated to accommodation.

Before writing to us, we recommend that you carefully read the Exchange Student Handbook, which explains many common situations.

If you still have questions, you can check the Erasmus and International Home page to find the correct email address for your query.

This will enable us to help you more quickly and accurately.
