Before going abroad you will need to define a study plan to be carried out at the host university. This document, called the Learning Agreement, is crucial to ensuring the recognition of activities carried out abroad. On this page you will find all the instructions for preparing it and sending it, with separate indications for Erasmus+ and Overworld.
What is the Learning Agreement?
The Learning Agreement for Study (LAS) is the study plan to be followed during mobility and must be approved before departure from:
- the student
- the teaching representative of the University of Parma (identifiable in Annex A of the Call)
- the teaching coordinator of the host university
The Learning Agreement must be sent complete with signatures before departure, unless otherwise indicated by the destination university.
The document is divided into three sections:
- Before the mobility (before mobility)
- During the mobility (during mobility)
- After the mobility (after mobility)
This page only covers the Before the Mobility section, the one to be completed and approved before departure.
The contact person has a key role: he will help you choose courses at the foreign office and establish correspondence with those of the University of Parma. The recommended model is the “package” one: the number of credits to be acquired abroad should correspond to those to be validated upon return.
Erasmus+ Students
The Erasmus+ Programme 2021–2027 promotes the digitisation of procedures via the Erasmus Without Paper initiative.
Currently, two versions of the LA must be compiled:
- The one generated by Esse3
- The one created through the Online Learning Agreement – OLA platform
The Learning Agreement must be signed by:
- The student
- The Erasmus representative of the University of Parma
- The Erasmus coordinator of the host university
The full document of all signatures should be sent to the Erasmus Office before the start of mobility.
Please note:
- The Learning Agreement is indispensable to receive the first part of the Erasmus+ grant
- You will only be able to change it once per semester, within 30 days of the start of classes (section “During the Mobility”)
- Only exams entered and approved in the LA can be recognised.
How to send it:
- Download the OLA PDF from the platform and send it to the Erasmus Office
- Fill out the LA on Esse3 as well, making sure the teachings match those of the OLA
Overworld Students
For Overworld mobility you must use only the form available on the Call page.
The Learning Agreement must be signed by:
- the student
- the contact person for the approval of the LA (University of Parma)
- the teaching coordinator of the host university
The full document of all signatures should be sent by e-mail to the Erasmus Office before the start of mobility.
Please note:
- The Learning Agreement may not be familiar to some non-EU universities: it will be your responsibility to have it signed by the foreign coordinator
- The UO Reception, Mobility and International Students can support you in communicating with the host university
- You will only be able to change it once per semester, within 30 days of the start of classes (section “During the Mobility”)
- Only exams approved in the LA are recognised.
