What is a Tax Code?
Non-Italian citizens residing in Italy permanently and temporarily for purposes other than tourism must obtain a Tax Code (CF).
The tax code (CF) is a personal identification code used for various tasks and services (i.e. apartment rental contracts, medical insurance, opening a bank account, buying a SIM card, ect.) which is necessary to enrol as a student at the University of Parma.
During the application process, the system automatically generated a temporary CF, which is not valid for purposes other than registration with the UNIPR system.
Issuing of Tax Identification Number
It is important to note that the Tax Code is not issued directly by the Erasmus Office, but by the Revenue Agency. Therefore, it is particularly advisable in this case to make an appointment for the issuance of this document, as this service is not available every day of the week.
