The activities of the working group

WP2 is divided into 4 subgroups

  • Joint Degrees Team: it is dedicated to the definition of a common vocabulary preparatory to all activities and to the creation of Joint Degree Programs (degree courses shared by two universities, aimed at obtaining a joint degree recognized by both countries), drafting the call for project applications and supporting all subsequent implementation and activation phases of the selected projects. The group also helped to define the structure and characteristics of Minors in Sustainability, i.e., interdisciplinary thematic training courses that are complementary to a second-cycle degree course and aimed at attaining additional skills useful both for further study and for entry into the world of work.
  • Short Programmes Team: it is in charge of studying and preparing guidelines for the design and management of "short curricula" such as BIPs (short mobility projects with a virtual and a physical part), MOOCs, (online courses open to a large number of users) and microcredentials (certificates that recognize a short learning experience, such as a short course or training).
  • Alignment with SDGs and Plurilingualism Team: it is responsible for studying and preparing guidelines regarding the alignment of the SDGs ("Sustainable Development Goals," i.e., the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set forth in the UN's 2030 Agenda) in course units and courses of study with a focus on the issue of multilingualism.
  • Pedagogical and Professional Development Team (PPDP): deals with the design and implementation of professional development initiatives for professors and technical-administrative staff of the universities involved. The goal is to enhance their pedagogical and teaching skills, focusing in particular on sustainability and the integration of the SDGs into the curricula. To achieve this, the group is holding workshops on how to incorporate sustainability into curricula. In addition, a calendar of Masterclasses (distance learning) and Academic Retreat sessions (in-person) has been planned at each of the nine hubs in the network.
