The University of Parma, in accordance with Article 7 of the University Statute, which provides for the promotion of continuing education and training of its staff, has laid the groundwork for the implementation of training courses for professors on the purely pedagogical aspects of university teaching that contemplate docimological issues and the use of new technologies to support learning.
The University has activated an intensive program of training initiatives on the most innovative teaching methodologies, promoting the activation of a community of practice to support continuous improvement, enabling teaching staff to take part in professional development training courses dedicated to the innovation of teaching practices and strategies with the support and integration of the most innovative technologies, contributing to the development of a teaching culture inspired by Active Learning and the building of a Faculty Learning Community (FLC), which resulted in the following projects:
- PROJECT "INNOVATIVE DIDACTIC TRAINING" (from a.y. 2023/2024)
- PROJECT"Development of UNIVERSITY DIDACTICS" (from a.y. 2016/2017 to a.y. 2022/2023)
Rewards and innovative teaching development
The call for submissions of innovative teaching practices conducted by lecturers at the University of Parma during the 2024/2025 academic year is now open.
The initiative aims to promote teaching quality and reward the commitment of teachers in experimenting with innovative teaching methods, in line with the University's strategies on quality, participation and student-centred learning.

Research and training
The group has set up a Research and Training project aimed, from the educational point of view, at improving university teaching; from the educational research point of view, on the other hand, interested in surveying the characteristics of the teaching strategies employed by university professors and their possible training needs in this regard.
