The University of Parma, in accordance with Article 7 of the University Statute, which provides for the promotion of continuing education and training of its staff, has laid the groundwork for the implementation of training courses for professors on the purely pedagogical aspects of university teaching that contemplate docimological issues and the use of new technologies to support learning.

The University has activated an intensive program of training initiatives on the most innovative teaching methodologies, promoting the activation of a community of practice to support continuous improvement, enabling teaching staff to take part in professional development training courses dedicated to the innovation of teaching practices and strategies with the support and integration of the most innovative technologies, contributing to the development of a teaching culture inspired by Active Learning and the building of a Faculty Learning Community (FLC), which resulted in the following projects:

  • PROJECT "INNOVATIVE DIDACTIC TRAINING" (from a.y. 2023/2024)
  • PROJECT"Development of UNIVERSITY DIDACTICS" (from a.y. 2016/2017 to a.y. 2022/2023)

The University of Parma also renews for the academic year 2024/2025 the "Innovative Teaching Training" Project, aimed at supporting teaching staff in their professional and educational journey, in accordance with Rectoral Decree No. 765 of March 28, 2024.

The aim of this initiative is to provide tools and skills for effective teaching aligned with international best practices.

The meetings will be held at the Auditorium of the Carissimi Seat (Borgo Carissimi, 10 - Parma) and will involve the following speakers - as well as other possible guests - on:

  • Monday, May 26, 2025 from 11.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Prof. Antonietti;
  • Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Prof. Daloiso;
  • Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Dr. Ledda and Dr. Raimondi;
  • Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Prof. Pintus.

 

Contents

The program will address key issues in the development of university teaching, including:

  • teaching design;
  • innovative methodologies and technologies;
  • evaluation and self-assessment;
  • communication and academic leadership.

Materials may be scheduled to be submitted for further study prior to the start of the pathway.

 

Fruition

Participation is mandatory for fixed-term type A and B researchers and RTTs who have taken office as of June 2024.

The pathway is also strongly recommended for research fellows holding a teaching contract for the first time in the a.y. 2024/2025, as well as open to all interested professors in the University.

In addition, young or recent researchers hired in the last two academic years may be identified by Department Directors and Departmental Teaching Delegates and made known to the following email address: formazionedocenti@unipr.it

The training activities will be subject to evaluation and self-assessment by the participant(s) and the course will be video-recorded to allow for later use and test the effectiveness of the blended mode.

The group has set up a Research and Training project aimed, from the educational  point of view, at improving university teaching; from the educational research point of view, on the other hand, interested in surveying the characteristics of the teaching strategies employed by university professors and their possible training needs in this regard.
