The University provides all staff and students with compulsory training on health and safety in the workplace, as required by Legislative Decree 81/08 and the implementing decrees and agreements.

The training programme comprises classroom-based courses, webinar courses and e-learning courses.

Guidance for specific categories of staff is contained in the relevant sections, as indicated in the PAGE INDEX.

In accordance with Legislative Decree 81/08 and the State-Regions Agreement of 17 April 2025, the University of Parma provides training to all staff on health and safety in the workplace.

In addition to the health and safety training already defined and delivered face-to-face as part of individual degree programmes, a Health and Safety Course for students is available via e-learning.

DEADLINE FOR COMPLETING THE COURSE: As a general rule, the course must be completed BEFORE accessing the laboratories. However, the deadline is set by each Department and will be communicated by them, depending on the specific organisation of the courses and the start of teaching activities in the laboratory. Whilst awaiting the signed certificate, you can download a ‘Certificate of Attendance’ from the Elly platform, which serves as proof that you have completed the course. Please note that, in order to obtain the credits, you must have the digitally signed documents, which are available on the course portal.

CERTIFICATES: You will be notified by email when the certificate is available and can be downloaded from the link IDEM - training curriculum

Postgraduate training is aimed at research fellows, scholarship holders, PhD students, those enrolled on Master’s or advanced training courses, and those on other types of contracts.

There are currently no courses scheduled for emergency response personnel

 

 

 

For international staff (students, trainees and staff attending UNIPR in various capacities), there are different ways to complete the safety training courses:
•    erasmus participants are issued with UNIPR login details, just like all duly enrolled students, and can therefore access the Elly 2026 Training platform – ‘Safety’ section – and complete the courses available there.
•    for European users (non-Erasmus) who do not have university login details, the IDEM procedure allows them to obtain an account granting access to the courses.

•    International visitors, on the other hand, must follow the procedure set out below:
1.    The guest must register their personal details by visiting https://www.idem.unipr.it/start/registra
2.    Validation by the staff member who vouches for the guest’s identity:
     a. by visiting: https://www.idem.unipr.it/secure/nuovi_ospiti
     b. and specifying the guest’s role and the duration of their access
3.    The IT support team activates the newly validated role
4.    The guest receives an email containing their login details and instructions on how to set their password

Once users have been authorised, they will be able to take the following courses:
-    classroom-based teaching/administrative activities: “General Training (4 hours)” and “Specific Training – Administrative Activities (4 hours)”;
-    laboratory activities: “General Training (4 hours)” and “Specific Training – Laboratory Work (12 hours)”;
-    healthcare activities: “General Training (4 hours)” and “Specific Training – High Risk in the Healthcare Sector (12 hours)”.
Information for lead teachers/tutors:
The lead teacher/tutor is responsible for delivering the specific training relating to laboratory work (e.g. regarding specific operating procedures or training on work equipment). This specific training must be formalised, for example, using the form in this Supplementary & Specialist Training Register.

 

SAFETY TRAINING FOR EXTERNAL STUDENTS ON WORK PLACEMENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PARMA (PCTO, etc.)

The “Internship Organiser” shall provide training on health and safety at work, as referred to in Article 37 of Legislative Decree 81/2008, as amended and supplemented, in accordance with the timetable, content and procedures set out in the State-Regions Agreement of 21 December 2011.

In accordance with its training and information obligations, the University of Parma, through the Head of Teaching and Research Activities in the Laboratory (RADRL), provides trainees with supplementary training and detailed information regarding: i) specific risks present in the environment, spaces and facilities in which they are to work; ii) prevention and protection measures adopted in relation to specific internship activities; iii) emergency management measures adopted in relation to their activities.

It is the responsibility of the student/employee to print and keep the course attendance certificate. You can download it yourself from your learning record at IDEM - training curriculum and present it if requested.

Certificates from previous courses are considered valid ONLY in the following cases:

  • If the certificates were issued by the University of Parma;

  • If the certificates for modules 1 and/or 3 were issued by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia; module 2, however, is specific to UniPR.

In all other cases, there is no exemption from the safety training modules provided by UniPR.

The certificate for “Module 1 – Basic Training” is valid indefinitely, whilst all other certificates are valid for five years from the date of issue stated on the document.
