Steps towards admission and enrolment

BEFORE YOU START

Choose your degree course and check the Admission Requirements. You can find more information at the following link: Information before enrolment.

Step 1 – Register

The call you intend to apply for includes all the instructions needed to complete your registration. Our University uses different platforms depending on the type of degree programme you are applying to.

Step 2 – Apply for Admission

To apply for admission, first check the call for detailed instructions and required documents. Prepare all materials, such as your curriculum vitae, language certificate, high school or bachelor’s diploma (translated into English or Italian), academic transcript of records, ID, syllabus, or test scores. Upload all documents and submit your application before the deadline. Wait for the evaluation results before proceeding with the next steps. Discover how to apply!

Step 3 – Apply for a Visa

Make sure to obtain your Acceptance Letter in order to apply for your visa. To request a study visa (type D), you must register online through the Universitaly portal. For more information, follow the link Apply for visa. If you wish to check whether you need a visa, you may consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation portal: Visto per l’Italia.

Step 4 – Apply for Pre-Enrolment

After receiving admission to your chosen degree programme, wait for enrolment to open. Then register on Esse3 and proceed with the payment of the first instalment. You may pay the instalment after obtaining your visa, but no later than the stated deadline. Learn more about how to Apply for pre-enrolment.

Step 5 – Complete Enrolment

You will be able to finalise your enrolment only after submitting all the required documents to the Student Office. Please note that admission to a degree programme does not automatically guarantee enrolment; your enrolment will be confirmed only once your visa has been issued and your qualifications have been verified. Enrolments are processed in chronological order. Complete the enrolment.

Step 6 – What to do once you arrive in Italy

When you arrive in Italy, you will need a tax code (codice fiscale) and a residence permit. To learn how to obtain them, explore the welcome services offered by the University of Parma. For more information: Welcome services for international students .
